My Role
Lead Product Designer
As the lead product designer, I was in charge of creative direction and process of the end-to-end user experience, from onboarding to the actual use of the app. In addition, I worked extensively with the owners and developers in communicating and collaborating the direction of both the company brand, as well as the app, gathering their input to not only design the user interface and user experience of the app, but also create a systematic workflow that is intuitive and efficient for all parties involved - designers, developers and owners.
The Initial Onboarding Experience
The inital onboarding process involved 6 major steps, including scanning and verifying a government level ID (passport or drivers license) and cross referencing it by linking it to their account as well. However, after initial user testing with close friends and family, we discovered that the onboarding process was too lengthy and as a result, testers felt the process as daunting and annoying to complete. As a result, we shortened the process to three simpe steps - email, phone number, and a liveness detection.

The Revised Onboarding Experience
We shifted several verification steps to post log-in, allowing users to verify whatever and whenever they choose to do so. This not only greatly shortens the onboarding process for the vast majority, but allows more users to onboard should they not have the required documents necessary immediately at hand.

Branding & Design Asset Management
After several iterations and discussions regarding branding, we wanted Imme to be more of a lifestyle brand, as opposed to the more strict and security company and services currently in the market. As a result, the orange/red gradient helps highlight the the fact that the company is one that puts the customers needs first and foremost.
In addition to communicating with the owners on the direction the product should go, I also lead in the production of the branding elements for the app - creating and managing the assets file in figma, as well as redlining documents for developers for their convenience.

Designing For A Startup
During my time as the sole product designer, I was able to take full ownership of my work the the product, and gain experience towards effectively communicate my intentions and design decisions to not only to developers, but also to owners in a professional manner, working with continuous constructive feedback from the parties involved. Throughout this process I was heavily involved in the process of solving initial user problems — add/improve features, A/B testing, iterating through a multitude of different UI design and user flows..
Being the sole product designer leads to wearing many hats, from creating presentation decks, to graphic design, as well as file and asset management of the assets required both for myself, as well as for the developers ease of access. As a result, I played an integral role in setting up the design system for all parties involved, as well as help create a cross-disciplinary workflow between designers and developers that would help future designers onboard with the company as easily and efficiently as possible.
